Crayons and Camaraderie: A First Step Group Colouring Activity

First Step Juniors, Seniors and Grade 1 gathered around long sheets of drawing paper for a group colouring activity full of flowers, rainbows and fruit waiting to be filled in. Bowls of crayons sat between them, shared and passed around as the children worked side by side on the same big sheet.

More than just a colouring exercise, the activity became a lesson in working together — taking turns, encouraging a classmate’s choice of colour, and enjoying a shared sense of achievement once the picture came alive. A simple box of crayons, it turns out, is also a fine way to build friendship.
